Following that I attended Wichita State University where I earned my bachelor's degree in early childhood/elementary education. After a few years of teaching experience I then decided to go back to school and attended the University of Phoenix Online where I earned my Master's in Early Childhood. I am currently the preschool teacher for the Norwich Bridges to Learning Program. I have two class sessions. The morning is for the 3's and 4's and the afternoon is for the 4's and 5's. I have taught 1 year for Norwich Elementary School. I also help out with the junior high SODA (Students Opposing Drugs and Alcohol) program.
Throughout college I was a substitute teacher and also did para work for USD 259. After graduating I took my first teaching job in Attica, Kansas at Puls Elementary School. I taught Kindergarten there for 9 years before taking the position at Norwich. I was also a junior class sponsor and did some coaching.
I married my wonderful husband Troy in 2011. We have 5 wonderful children who's names are Riandi, Eli, Kaitlyn, Kimberlyn, and Evie. Riandi and Eli attend school in the Haysville school district. Kaitlyn and Kimberlyn go to school here in Norwich and Evie still gets to be cuddled at daycare. We have one dog named Lilly and have recently gained a turtle also.
When I am not at school I like to do things with my children. We are usually going to what ever sporting event is going on at the time. I also enjoy scrapebooking and finding all kinds of ideas on Pinterest to create for the home and for the classroom.
